He loved beautiful machines, jewels and exclusive watches, so we want to focus today on one of the most iconic Elvis watches.

The singer wore a Rolex King Midas 9630 ( ref 9630 ) on his wrist, a watch built in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.

The King Midas at the time was the most expensive Rolex that could be purchased (in 1970 a Rolex Day-Date retailed for $1825 and a King Midas retailed for $ 2,500).

This watch was given to him in 1970 by officers of the Houston Astrodome Livestock Show & Rodeo for selling out six days in a row in Houston.

Elvis' number was number 343/1000 among other things made for left-handed even if the King of R&R was not. The caseback engraved bore the phrase "To Elvis Presley From The Houston Livestock Show Officers 1970."

The origin of the limited King Midas model was not

Cellini. It came from a standard Midas model. The

name was engraved on the side and the winding

crown took on the shape of the sun.
