Maybe the most beautiful Arena in the way, you walked through the door and you were literal amazed by frescoes, capitals, marbles,

works of art by Jacopo Tintoretto and Paolo Veronese. In the midst of the art and the millennial history of a building inaugurated by Doge Nicolò Da Ponte in 1583, stood "La Misericordia", the basketball hall of the city of Venice in the 1940s.

A unique basketball field for its structure, located on the first floor of the building, was the scene of epic Serie A matches ( Italian

basketball maximum league). With the maximum capacity set for 800 people, the building was punctually filled by a crowd of almost 2000 people, the Reyer (Venetian basketball team in those years) played for 50 years, until 1977.

People arrived 3 hours before the game to be sure of getting a seat but above all to contemplate all the beauty that surrounded them.

Inside, a marvelous cheer was created, thus establishing a relationship with the spectacular public.

Visitors saw the colonnade and the works of art and were amazed, they did not believe it. The magic of art watched over basketball in this unique place in the world.
